Nephrite is a large class of rocks, and the ones presented here are known in Taiwan locally as Taiwan jade 台灣玉, which actually comes in many forms. This particular rock was found in Hualien County (around the week of March 5, 2020).
The rock itself displays an orange white hue with parts that come off as dark-black in color. The orange and black spot samples shown are cut from the same larger rock piece and have thicknesses x and y, respectively.
The x-ray diffraction patterns are shown in the next figures. Both rocks were placed on the no-background sample holder for 2theta scans.
